Both coffin and casket are coffins and have almost the same meaning. However, they have subtle differences:
Coffin is usually made according to the shape of the human body, mostly hexagonal or octagonal.
Casket is usually rectangular. Generally, the cover is divided into two parts, and the upper part can be opened separately for guests and friends attending the funeral to pay homage to the remains of the dead. Modern people tend to use casket, which is more solemn.
Therefore, the basic difference between coffin and casket lies in the difference in shape.
Birth, old age, sickness and death are the reincarnation that everyone cannot avoid. When we lament because of the 50,000 to 100,000 graves, in fact, American funerals are also a heavy expense.
Most Americans also choose the funeral services provided by the funeral home if someone in the family dies unfortunately.
The funeral industry is the industry with the least public service prices in the United States. When providing services, additional items are often added to drive up prices in order to obtain more profits. The annual profit of 19,000 funeral homes is approximately $16.3 billion.
According to statistics from the American Funeral Association (NFDA), an average funeral costs about US$7,000, while the price of cremation is about US$5,000.
